It is not unusual to see ice hockey players fight during a match.

What is unusual, however, is to see a fan get involved in the action.

During a match between Hungarian team Szekesfehervar and Salzburg in the European EBEL league, a fight broke out between players.

While they were fighting, a fan for the home team, Szekesfehervar, started hitting a Salzburg player on his helmet.

The Hungarian team had to to pay an 8000-euro fine for the fan’s behavior.

WORDS
to break (broke, broken) out: to suddenly start (usually something dangerous).
behavior (UK behaviour): the way how you act in various situations.

Boxing at Church Hall

The Italian city of Naples has been the stronghold of mafia known as Camora for a long time.

It is very difficult for young people living in the neglected Naples neighbourhoods  to find job opportunities.

Tensions between police and youths on the streets have become part of everyday life there.

A new boxing project for the young, which takes place in the hallway of  the Santa Maria della Sanita church, was started by Father Antonio Loffredo several years ago.

He believes the sport can teach young people rules they can use in everyday life, too.

WORDS
stronghold: a place which is dominated by a particular group of people.
neglected: without care or attention.

Excuse/Pardon my French

This phrase is used to apologize for using bad (vulgar language).

Origin
French was the official language of England in the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th century. And it was not uncommon for the English sometimes to use a French word in later centuries. So “Excuse my French”  was initially used to ask a listener to pardon the use of “unfashionable” French.
