Though China is a sports nation, ice hockey still belongs to those sports which are relatively new and unknown in the country.

Kunlun Red Star became the first team to join the KHL in the 2016-2017 season.

The Kontinetal Hockey League (KHL), is the second largest hockey league behind the NHL and is played in Europe and Asia.

The team had the minimum number of four Chinese players on its roster as it is required by the KHL rules.

However, during the Covid-19 era the team lost its connection to Chinese hockey  and now plays home games in Russia.

It is played in a court which is divided by a net with two opposing teams.

One, two or three players on a team try to score a point by hitting the ball and making it bounce in the opponent’s area.

This sport originated in the former Czechoslovakia in 1920.

Arguably one of the best cyclists in the world is Peter Sagan.

Peter won the green jersey, widely thought of as ”the sprinters’ competition”, in the Tour de France several times, dyeing his beard green and wearing a green wig to underline the victories.

Peter started out his sports career as a footballer, but quit after just a few days training. Pondering which sport was his first love, he decided to ride full-time in competitive sport cycling.

He drew significant media attention in his home country after winning a Slovak Cup race on a supermarket bike, with poor brakes and gears, which he had borrowed from his sister.

Peter was loved by his fans for his poise and the unique gestures he used when sprinting to the finish line in first place.

Nevertheless, the world’s best golfers try to win a green jacket at the Masters Tournament.

In addition to receiving a couple hundred thousand dollars in prize money, the winner becomes an honorary member of the Augusta National Golf Club and receives a green jacket.

The winner gets to keep the green jacket for a year, then he returns it to the club to wear whenever he visits.

It is traditional for the winner of the previous year’s tournament to present the jacket to the present winner.

The match was viewed by 90 million people worldwide.

Riggs, a former Wimbledon singles and doubles champion, lost to King in three sets.

Battle of the Sexes is a 2017 comedy – drama film, the plot of which is loosely based on this tennis match.

What is unusual, however, is to see a fan get involved in the action.

During a match between Hungarian team Szekesfehervar and Salzburg in the European EBEL league, a fight broke out between players.

While they were fighting, a fan for the home team, Szekesfehervar, started hitting a Salzburg player on his helmet.

The Hungarian team had to to pay an 8000-euro fine for the fan’s behavior.

Tensions between police and youths on the streets have become part of everyday life there.

A new boxing project for the young, which takes place in the hallway of  the Santa Maria della Sanita church, was started by Father Antonio Loffredo several years ago.

He believes the sport can teach young people rules they can use in everyday life, too.
